Review on Terapeak Software
The software that I have been testing for the past week is called Terapeak.
Here is the link to a video about them: Terapeak Video (its a really good video)
This software is what I like to call a swiss army knife for selling products. They have carefully thought out every area that you would want to know about and then allowed you to have access to all the information.
The way they get all their information is from eBay. So if you sell on eBay then this is a must tool to have. If you don’t but sell on Amazon or have your own online store or retail store then it will also come in handy as whatever is happening on eBay is happening off eBay.
What I thought would be best to do in this review is give you the run down of the areas which Terapeak cover and then give you my own personal view of what I think of it and how I think you can use it to your advantage.
The 4 areas that the Terapeak software covers is:
- Product Research
- Seller Research (spying on your competition – seriously good)
- Category Research
- Hot Products (extra – but well worth it)
Ok so lets start with number 1…
Product Research
As the title suggests this area allows you to research a product. The way this works is that you type in a product name and then Terapeak will search on the entire eBay database and come back with a ton of information. They tell you things like:
- The average selling price
- How many listings are on that product
- How much money that product sells a month
- The most popular days that product sells on
- Plus a few more other areas
Then once you have all that information, it then will tell you how popular the product is throughout the entire year. This is great bit of knowledge to have as if you want to find a product you can sell all year round then simply by looking at this tool you get your answer.
After you have done these checks you can then go even further and find out what kind of competition you would be up against and see exactly what there most successful listing are so you can then copy it (although I don’t recommend copy completely as you want to differentiate yourself from you competition – but you get the idea).
The last cool feature in this area is called the “Title Builder”. If you struggle with writing a good title to sell your product then this will come in handy. I had a quick play around with it and can see it has potential because it will help tell you what the most popular words typed in when searching for your product. The way I use this tool is by taking note of the top searched and then write my own title whilst including the words – it works really effectively.

Overview of this feature:
This section of the software is one that I use the most. It gives you a completely run down on every possible area about a product to help make the decision on whether to go for it or not very easy. It really opens your eyes on what the customer is thinking and wanting for a product which then helps you know exactly what you need to give to them to make the sale.
Selling Research (AKA spying)
Ok now this is where the software gets a bit sneaky. If you have ever had a competitor who is selling loads of products and you just don’t know why. Then with this tool you can find out things like:
- What their top selling product is
- What time and day they sell the most stuff
- How much money they are taking per month
With this information you are then able to dissect their entire business and see what one product they are selling more than you and then make the necessary changes to then beat them.

Overview of this feature:
The best part by far of this feature is seeing what time and day they sell the most stuff. As once you know this you can then schedule yours at the same time and I am pretty certain you will see a difference in sales. Hint: I have found from my own tests that Thursday evenings and Sunday Evenings are the best days to end your listings.
Category Research
Ok this one is pretty self explanatory. Its simple but very important part of the whole product choosing. You see with this area you can research back 2 years worth of data about any particular product. This is extremely important in seeing whether a product is on the way up or on the way out.
The reason why this is so important is because if you go in the market with a product on the way down then you will struggle to get sales on it because not that many people want it anymore. However if you come across a product which is on the way up (or even leveling out) you can be certain that you won’t have much trouble selling it and making money.

Overview of this feature:
This feature has a few different areas on it like telling you waht top titles in the category are, the biggest competitor in that category which is helpful but the one for me which I think is the best is having the ability to search back 2 years worth of data to see how well the product has been selling and how much it has been selling for. This information in my eyes is priceless and is such an essential part in choosing a product. I definitely recommend using this part of the tool every single time you look for a product.
Hot Products
This feature is an added extra but well worth it. What it does is show you what the top searched and top selling products are on eBay at that current time. It then goes on to tell you what the most popular searches are on the hottest products, what the best titles are for each hot product and waht the average price that the product is going for.
It really helps on building a good understanding on how the product is doing and what you need to be doing to be competitive in the market.

Overview of this feature:
This feature is really helpful but I would use it differently to what it suggests. The reason why is most of the time I found that the product which is popular is in a super competitive area so what I would do instead of trying to source the most popular product is to look for products which work in conjunction with the hottest product as this way you lower your competition but whilst still staying in a hot niche
. I tested this out a couple of times and it has come up trumps every time so its definitely work getting this as an extra feature in my eyes.
Well that wraps up the review on the software. I recommend you testing it out for yourself if you need help on knowing what products to sell. It really helps you understand exactly how you need to approach the market before you have even spent any money on buying stock. It also takes away the testing side of things and instead allows you to start earning money straight away.
Obviously will all this being said, the software is unfortunately not free. They do charge but it is a pretty low amount considering how much you gain from it in my eyes. I went for the “Advantage” package which is £13.72 a month along with the “Hot product” pack on top which is £6.95 per month. If you are unsure then I would suggest to go for the cheapest package which is £9.00 to test it out as you can always upgrade later.
The cost to me is irrelevant as I am paying for convenience. The time it would have taken me to find this information out myself what have been days or weeks whereas with this software it takes me an hour max.
Anyway, I hope this has been helpful for you and if you have any questions about it then you can shoot me an email or probably best bet is to head over to the Terapeak website (Terapeak.com) as they have loads of information all about it.
Talk soon,
Gary
